As a freelance project, I designed the poster for the Simsbury Light Opera Company’s production of the Gilbert & Sullivan classic The Pirates of Penzance.
Because it was the company’s 75th anniversary, I created a mask for the ship with the names and dates of the company’s prior productions. The watercolor background is a practical effect edited in Photoshop, intended to evoke the beach where Frederick initially encounters the many daughters of the Major General.
