For the final project in my Internet Ethics and Policy course at Quinnipiac University, I created a proposal, wireframe, and prototype for an educational resource about unethical coercive monetization in “freemium” games. The website would define and illustrate deceptive tactics in order to educate gamers—and especially parents of young gamers—about the potentially deceptive costs in seemingly cost-free entertainments.
